I was born and raised in Colombia, where I completed my medical degree before moving to the United States for further training. I earned my PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Miami, where my research focused on investigating therapeutics to protect the inner ear from noise-induced injury. My professional interests include hearing and balance disorders, inner-ear protection and regeneration, and translational approaches to improving patient outcomes. I am now a resident in the Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery program at VUMC and part of the R25 physician-scientist track. Outside of medicine, I enjoy traveling, especially sailing and exploring islands, trying new restaurants, spending time with family, and staying active through soccer, tennis, and pickleball!
